GBCM Jiu Jitsu Move of the Week

This week’s move of the week is a knee bar from half guard. A very important position, half guard is a great way to stop someone from smashing you. Gracie Barra Costa Mesa’s head instructor, Professor Scott Carr is known for his bottom half guard.

Take note of a few details:
-Framing away to get space for top leg to whip over and around
-As you come up to your shoulder, hook under the knee and use your legs to kick them forward.
-Roll with your knees pinched and grab the heel – bridge forward and Knee Bar
